Alright, lets compare wallets. Everyone knows that APC and Louis Vuitton are at different price points but they both have a similar target customer. One is a luxury leather goods maker and the other is a fashion house that was born the same year as me!
I chose these wallets because they have a similar grain pattern and color as well as a similar general shape. So, I figured it would be a good match. The APC wallet retails for $105 (purchased mine during a winter sale for $60) and the LV wallet retailed for $375 when it was new.
Both wallets are made of a soft, textured leather and are both edge coated. The LV wallet is slightly larger, measuring 3.5”x5” while the APC wallet is 3.25”x4.5”. The LV wallet has a much heavier zipper pull than the APC wallet so I’m sure that contributes to its higher price point. Both zippers are identical to use and are smooth while opening and closing.
The LV wallet has a palladium chain link attached to the inside panel which you can use to clip onto your pants or bags. Personally, I don’t use the chain because I’m always afraid I will get it caught on something and have it tear away from the leather! Both wallets have the same number of compartments but they’re organized slightly different. The APC wallet has a pocket on the outside and one large compartment on the inside. The LV has no compartments on the outside and instead uses a panel of leather to divide the interior into two usable sections.
Take a look at the video below where I play around with the wallets and stuff my cards inside!
